June 15, 2019
8:45 am - 12:00 pm

All professions which deal with learning disabilities are coming to a consensus that a multi-disciplinary team approach is effective for most patients or clients. As optometrists, we are often among the first to test and identify a young person or adult with learning disorders.

Although we provide treatment for visual-perceptual, visual-motor and visual skills deficiencies, we frequently see the need for and recommend a multi-disciplinary approach to resolving the problem. We have scheduled an informal workshop to learn about the signs and symptoms of learning related vision problems and how, as professionals, we can work together in caring for our patient’s greatest success. We hope you plan to attend.

You Are Invited…

.....A workshop for professionals who work with children, adolescents or adults who suffer with learning disabilities, sensory deficits, behavior difficulties or other conditions that restrict learning.

....An opportunity to learn and hear what other professionals are doing to help those challenged with learning disabilities.

....Plus, time to discuss how to form an interdisciplinary team approach to help patients.

In this lively, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to assess, test for and distinguish visual conditions that keep some children from doing well. You’ll have an opportunity to practice tests on other participants, ask questions, and meet with other professionals who are working with children’s learning problems.
